Has your lawn just been hydroseeded? Taking care of it is incredibly important if you want it to grow well.
GENERAL INFORMATION
After the lawn is first Hydroseeded, allow the mulch to dry before watering. (Usually dry by the next day.) During the first two weeks, water all areas every day keeping area slightly moist to speed up germination. Water 6 to 10 minutes per section, four times a day, if possible. Limit the watering time if you are causing run-off damage. Do not water if heavy rain is predicted within the next 12 hours. Allow area to remain dry after a rain event. In shady areas, allow the mulch to dry out between watering. After you have mowed the lawn once, water less often while increasing the watering time. This will promote deeper root growth. A lawn should receive 1″ to 2″ of water per week.
Mow grass as soon as needed. Allow area to dry out before mowing. Cut the grass on a high setting to keep the grass cooler and weed seeds from germinating. Try not to mow off more than 1/3 of the plant when mowing. It may be necessary to mow twice a week in the beginning. Repeated mowing will promote root growth and kill some weeds. You do not have to pick up the clippings unless the grass cuttings are smothering the new grass.
With the 90-Day Maintenance Program, we will do all the follow-up fertilizing and washout repairs. MAINTENANCE REMINDER (AFTER LAWN HAS BEEN MOWED ONCE) If you have a sprinkler system, water every other day in the early morning. This promotes deeper root growth. If you water by a hose, water 2 hours each section (2 times per week preferred.) There are 2 hour timers available at local hardware stores allowing you to start the watering without worrying about turning it off. Mowing 2 times per week promotes better root growth and deters weed growth.
